Former Customer Experience Officer, Orvis / Chief Information and Interactive Officer, Build-A-Bear Workshop

Dave Finnegan has over 20 years of experience in retail technology and customer experience. Dave served as the Customer Experience Officer at The Orvis Company, where his innovative strategies propelled the company to achieve record-setting performance. Prior to Orvis, Dave helped start Build-A-Bear Workshop and served served as the CIO (Chief Information Officer). He was responsible for leading digital and technology innovation and, most notably, the Store of the Future, which was an initiative to modernize Build-A-Bear’s stores through emerging technologies and provide a more customer-centric experience leveraging a more dynamic and adaptive floor plan design.

Dave currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Polar Citizen Science Collective. He previously served as the Co-Chair of the CMO and CIO Council Executive Committee for the National Retail Federation, an invitation-only group of many of the most influential CMOs and CIOs in the industry. Dave is also a member of the Explorers Club in New York.

Dave holds a BS in Information Management from Utah State University.
